Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Maine CDC) identified additional cases of acute hepatitis A virus infection in Aroostook County. Close contacts at risk are already being notified. The only risk to the public identified by Maine CDC at this time involves a Presque Isle food service worker.

The Kroger Co. said today it is recalling Private Selection Frozen Triple Berry Medley (48 oz), Private Selection Frozen Triple Berry Medley (16 oz), and Private Selection Frozen Blackberries (16 oz) manufactured by Townsend Farms due to possible Hepatitis A contamination.
The County of San Luis Obispo Public Health Department has confirmed that three adult residents of the county have been diagnosed with hepatitis A following a private catered event on May 3. The cases appear to be linked to this single common source.
Customers who ate at the Wild Wing Cafe at 1150 Bower Parkway in the Harbison area of Lexington County might have been exposed to the hepatitis A virus, the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control announced today.

The Northwest Health District’s ongoing investigation and surveillance indicate that there is a need to extend the risk period of hepatitis transmission to March 29, 2019.
