KOBI TV reports that the source of an E. coli outbreak in Jackson County remains under investigation.
Jackson County Public Health said they’ve been investigating several cases since August 8, 2021. Of the 16 people who were infected, 12 have been hospitalized.

Outbreak of Salmonella Typhimurium infections
Fratelli Beretta USA, Inc., a Mount Olive, N.J. establishment, is recalling approximately 862,000 pounds of uncured antipasto products that may be contaminated with Salmonella Infantis and/or Salmonella Typhimurium, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.

Since the outbreak was announced, Marler Clark has been contacted by families of two Mississippi children who remain hospitalized due to acute kidney failure and the families of Alabama and Louisiana children also stricken by E. coli O157:H7. We have filed 3 lawsuits in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.
As of August 10, 2021, a total of 9 people infected with the outbreak strain of Salmonella Weltevreden have been reported from 4 states (see map). Illnesses started on dates ranging from February 26, 2021, to July 17, 2021 (see timeline).
The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) has identified several cases of E. coli O157 infection associated with use of the swimming pool and/or splashpad at the Jellystone Park Camp Resort-Yogi on the Lake in Pelahatchie, Miss.
