In 2011, at least 98 people fell ill with two different strains of Salmonella, both linked to an Ohio-based hatchery called Mt. Healthy Hatchery.
Now, Mt. Healthy Hatchery has been linked to another series of Salmonella illnesses, this time from three separate strains: Salmonella Infantis, Salmonella Newport and Salmonella Lille. The bacteria have sickened at least 93 people.
And in a report published last month, researchers revealed that yet another Salmonella outbreak — this one spanning the 8 years between 2004 and 2011 — has been linked to the same Ohio-based hatchery.
