Unibright Foods Inc. is recalling frozen, ready-to-eat beef and pork products, which are sold in Hawaii, that may contain “extraneous metal materials,” according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.

Unibright Foods Inc. has recalled nearly 50,000 pounds of meat sold as:

» “Mishima Sukiyaki Beef” (2.2 lbs), bearing the establishment number “EST.1163” inside the USDA mark of inspection and package ID number “15069”

» “Mishima Gingered Pork” (1.7 lbs), bearing the establishment number “EST.1163” inside the USDA mark of inspection and package ID number “I5059.”

The products were shipped to institutions and retail outlets in Hawaii, Arizona, California, Colorado, Illinois, New Jersey and New York.

According to FSIS, a distributor was notified by a restaurant in Illinois that a piece of stainless steel wire was found in a sukiyaki beef product.
