France is recalling a cheese imported into the United States that was found to be contaminated with salmonella.

According to the recall notice, Ste. Fromagere du Livradois of Fournols is pulling its Haut Livradois brand Raclette and Montboissie cheeses, which were sold in supermarkets and gourmet stores nationwide between March 10 and May 6.

Both cheeses were sold in 13 lb. wheels, with lot number 350. The Montboissie has a vegetable ash line in the middle of the cheese and the Raclette does not.

The salmonella was found during testing by the Food and Drug Administration. The bacteria causes a range of gastrointestinal symptoms. It can also be deadly.

The company has not received any confirmed reports of illnesses.
