Nearly 1,200 more people, who were potentially exposed to Hepatitis A at Port Chester’s bartaco, were vaccinated on Saturday. That brings the total number of treated people to about 2,900 since the Westchester County Department of Health began providing free preventive treatments at the County Center on Thursday.

In total, four customers and one employee contracted the disease. The Health Department is pushing patrons who visited bartaco between Oct. 13 and 23 to receive preventative treatment while they still can. The Port Chester school district also sent an email Thursday alerting people about the Health Department’s recommendation.

The Wayne County Department of Health, Veterans and Community Wellness is investigating cases of Hepatitis A related to two Grosse Pointe restaurants.

The restaurants are Uncle Paul’s Pizza on Mack Ave. and Cabbage Patch Cafe and Catering on Kercheval Avenue.

Both establishments have voluntarily closed and are working with WCDHVCW during the investigation.
