The Connecticut Dept of Agriculture has issued a recall for this product because the oysters may be contaminated with Vibrio parahaemolyticus. This naturally-occuring bacterium can cause foodborne illness if the oysters are consumed without cooking.
The recalled product was sold in Wegmans seafood departments (at the stores listed above) between July 13, 2013 and August 5, 2013 and may have also been sold in Wegmans restaurants, Food Bars, and Pubs at those stores during that timeframe.
