There are many reasons why some people are thinking about drinking raw milk these days. (Raw milk is milk that has not been pasteurized to kill harmful germs.) Some people want to eat less processed food.

Victims, families urge Peanut Corp. CEO to be held accountable

Congresswoman Rosa L. DeLauro (CT-3), Ranking Member on the Labor, Health, and Human Services Appropriations Subcommittee, issued the following statement today in support of those who were affected by the 2009 recall of peanuts contaminated with Salmonella.

The outbreak was traced to a Peanut Corporation

The products subject to recall bear the establishment number "EST. 1913" inside the USDA mark of inspection. These products were distributed to restaurants throughout southern California.

The following products are subject to recall:

• (559002) American Companies 100% Pure Ground Beef 30-lb. case

• (552102) American Companies 2/1 R Ground Beef Patties 80/20 10-lb. case

The Country Market of Medical Lake, WA is recalling raw fluid milk because it may be contaminated with Escherichia coli bacteria (E. coli) that can cause serious illness.

The recall was initiated after routine sampling by the Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) discovered that the product was contaminated with toxin-producing E. coli. The Country

State health officials on Friday warned consumers that certain fresh cilantro sold in grocery stores may be contaminated with salmonella.

No illnesses have been reported, but the cilantro is being recalled as a precaution.
