The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services along with local health departments is currently investigating an outbreak of Cyclospora. Cyclospora is a rare parasite that can cause gastrointestinal illness. The illness occurs when a person has food or water contaminated with the parasite. Fresh vegetables or fruits are often linked to Cyclospora outbreaks.
