The Food and Drug Administration is warning consumers to stay away from all bagged spinach. This, after at least one death and several reports of E. coli illness are spanning multiple states. The warning pertains to bagged spinach — so popular now for making healthy food convenient.

An outbreak of E. coli poisoning from in eight states coast to coast has affected some fifty people.

For how many people are suffering from kidney failure as a result, usually a small fraction of those affected. That would tell us that this is either a very virulent strain of the bacteria or there are a lot more sick people out there
