It seems as though ground turkey is not the only product that’s been affected by a recall recently. Last week on Friday, August 5, 2011, Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market Inc., an El Segundo, California company, announced that it is recalling its Fresh & Easy brand organic baby spinach because it could be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The company found that one bag of its product tested positive for the bacteria.
Although no illnesses have been associated with the product at this time, the company has issued this recall as a precautionary measure. The recalled products have an “enjoy by” date of August 1, 2011. The spinach was packaged in 5 oz. plastic bags with the barcode 20001162 and were sold in Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market stores in California, Nevada and Arizona.
