The CDC reports a total of 557 cases of Cyclospora infection have been reported from 19 states and New York City. The number of cases identified in each area is as follows: Texas (225), Iowa (153), Nebraska (86), Florida (28)¶, Wisconsin (14), Illinois (11)†, Arkansas (7)†, New York City (5)†, Georgia (4), Kansas (4)‡, Missouri (4)†, Louisiana (3)‡, Minnesota (2), New Jersey (2), New York (2)†, Ohio (2), Virginia (2), California (1)†, Connecticut (1), and New Hampshire (1).

On August 12, 2013, FDA released information regarding the traceback investigation of Taylor Farms de Mexico salad mix and the company’s decision to suspend “production and shipment of any salad mix, leafy green, or salad mix components from its operations in Mexico to the United States.”
According to the CDC, it is not yet clear whether the cases from all of the states are part of the same outbreak.
