canadian peppers.bmpYesterday, Canada’s food safety regulatory agency, CFIA, warned consumers not to eat certain jalapeno peppers sold primarily in bulk and unlabeled, out of fears of Salmonella contamination.  The CFIA stated:

The affected fresh jalapeno peppers, imported from the USA, were sold as follows:

1.Unlabelled from bulk at Safeway stores and various independent grocery stores in

A lawsuit has been filed on behalf of a Webster, NY woman and her child who say they were infected with Salmonella from contaminated pine nuts distributed by New Jersey-based importer Sunrise Commodities.

After voluntarily closing last week, Don Julio’s in Corinth, Mississippi, has reopened.  The Don Julio’s restaurant in Corinth has been identified as the source of at least 59 confirmed Salmonella infections.

In a statement posted on DJournal.com, Northeast Mississippi District Health Officer Dr. Jessie R. Taylor stated:
