The State of Colorado and the health department that serves the Tri-County area  have advised residents of Douglas, Arapahoe, and Boulder counties who purchased Bravo Farms Dutch Style Gouda Cheese at Costco not to eat the product.  8 residents of Douglas, Arapahoe, and Boulder counties have been sickened in the cheese E. coli outbreak, which has sickened 25 people in 5 states nationally.

The CDC is still investigating, as are health departments in Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico and Colorado, monitoring for more illnesses.  A significant public health effort is being put forth to contact consumers who may have purchased the product.  The cheese, which was sold for most of the month of October, may certainly still be in consumer homes.  Thankfully though Costco was the one that sold it and they take traceback and contacting customers in recall situations seriously.

We are filing suit tomorrow on behalf of a Phoenix, Arizona social worker who was hospitalized for two days, incurring thousands of dollars in medical costs for treatment.  By the way, it appears that the jury is still out on whether Bravo Farms Cheeses, LLC is going to do right by their customers and pay all verified medical expenses immediately.
